The connecting cable of the HDMI 2.0 standard consists of 5 twisted pairs + 8 service conductors + 1 drainage wire (ground). The information pairs are individually shielded with foil, which reduces the level of external interference. The entire assembly is enclosed in a single braided screen, which eliminates interference and RF radiation to the outside. The screen is connected to a drain wire to increase its efficiency and remove stray currents from connected devices. The cable is enclosed in a protective insulating shell.
